Thank you for your interest in Rainbow Colors Alpines. We live in the central, southern part of the state. We own approximately 120 acres where we raise our Alpine dairy goats and registered Texas Longhorn cattle.
The doe on this page is GCH Rainbow Colors LAR Shyanne 6*M who we lost in 2006 during birthing difficulties. It is a great loss because she had accumulated 18 times Best Doe In Show awards before her death.
We started back on DHIA test this year 2015 but have decided to discontinue DHIA testing for 2017. We try to Linear Appraised every other year.
We attend many shows each year in our state and surrounding states with very heavy Alpine competion. We have attended a few Nationals where we have made the cut with some and some that didn't make the cut. Our highest National placing was three times having a 1st place dry junior yearling.
Our kids are removed from their dams at birth and raised on heat-treated colostrum and pasteurized milk for all preorderd kids. We maintain a high standard of health by providing them with vitamin supplements and free choice top quality alfalfa and 2nd and 3rd cutting grass hay all from our fields so no acid is placed on our hay at time of baleing. They are fed a coccidiosis calf feed until 5 or 6 months of age. They are given CD&T shots. They are also treated for Coccidiosis at 3 or 4 weeks of age.
A deposit of $100. is required to reserve the kid of your choice is non-refundable unless the kid of your choice is not born. If arrangements are not made and balance has not been paid within 14 days, the deposit will be forfeited and the kid will be offered to the next person in line. Prices quoted on this site are for pre-ordered kids only. Orders will be on a first come, first serve basis. No refunds on canceled orders. We test our herd for CAE annually and are proud to say we have a negative herd. We also routinely test animals for export requirements including other less common diseases like CL and Johnes, Chlamydia, Blue Tongue, and Q-Fever, always testing negative.
